DPS
offers an excellent retirement program administered by
the Denver Public School Retirement System. The program
is a defined benefit program and replaces Social Security
for DPS employees.
New
employees contribute to the Plan on a tax-deferred basis
at the rate of 8% of their contractual salary. The
District contributes to the Plan each year based upon the
actuary's recommendation. The Plan is fully funded and
among the most financially sound systems in the nation.
