DPS HR Classified Division

Essential Functions and FAQs

Generally, classified employment at DPS involves all positions that do not require a license (formerly "certificate") to teacher or perform as school administrators. This very large and diverse class of nearly 7,000 employees includes Classified Office, Transportation, Building and Grounds, Building Operations, Food Services, Classified Non-affiliated, Professional and Technical, Paraprofesionals, Information Technology, and Special Hourly Personnel.

To better service our audiences, both internal and external, the HR Classified Division has assigned employees to specifically service many of these groups, some of which are also represented by bargaining units or employee associations.
