Essential Functions
and FAQs

In March 1999, Denver Public Schools installed a new human resources information system (HRIS) to perform and manage all district human resource activities including payroll and benefits. The HRIS Team is responsible for maintaining the functionality of the HRIS software. This is accomplished as follows:
  • All PACE (Personnel Action/Confirmation of Employment) Forms that are completed by
schools and departments are ultimately entered into the HRIS by staff.

  • Numerous Audit Reports are run daily, weekly and/or monthly to ensure the integrity of
    the data in the HRIS.

  • Our Team is the liaison between Payroll and Human Resources. If a school or department
submits hours to be paid on an employee and the employee is not entered into the HRIS or,
is not in the job code submitted, the Payroll Department notifies our team. We then track
this information until the employee has all information entered into the HRIS so they can be paid.

Our Team also provides reports to both internal and external Denver Public School customers on the data contained in the HRIS, such as annual human resources reports provided to the Colorado Department of Education and other agencies.

HRIS TEAM TOP THREE FAQ's

1. When will my information be entered into the HRIS system?

RESPONSE: Once the PACE form is received from a school or department the assigned HR Specialist will review, process and route the completed PACE form to the HRIS team for entry.

2. I don't understand how to complete a PACE form. What should I do?

RESPONSE: Please refer to your Human Resource Manual for detailed instructions. You can also click here for "how to" information on completing all PACE forms. Plus, you can also contact your designated HR Specialist.

3. What are the deadlines for submitting PACE forms?

RESPONSE
  • PACE forms for mid-month payroll are due NO LATER THAN the last working day of the month!

  • PACE forms for end of month payroll are due NO LATER THAN the 10th of the month or the
last working day prior if the 10th is on a weekend.
